PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (S) (TITANIUM)

Makino is one of the leading providers of advanced precision machining, tooling, and custom solutions for business and industry. We are currently recruiting unique types of Process Development Engineers! These individuals will join our R&D team developing innovative machining techniques in Titanium for Makino machine tool products. The positions will be located in our North and South American Headquarters in Mason, Ohio (in Cincinnati, OH).

Sr. Process Development Engineer
Position will require:

• .5-axis programming knowledge
• DOE or other technical analysis experience (FMEA, root cause analysis, etc.)
• Ability to analyze, summarize and present data
• Solid model creation/manipulation
• Metallurgical background

In addition, qualified individuals should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a Engineering/Sciene discipline, Masters degree highly desirable, experience with R&D work in the machining of hard metals, specifically titanium, using CNC horizontal or vertical machines desireed. Individual will need 7+ years of work experience, as well as, a background in tool design and metallurgy preferred. Previous use of Unigraphics and/or CATIA is strongly desirable.

Process Development Engineer
Position will require:

In addition, qualified individuals should possess a degree in a Engineering/Science degree, 5+ years of experience with machining hard metals, specifically titanium, using CNC horizontal or vertical machines. The general description of requirements are needed for this position as noted below.

BOTH POSITIONS WILL REQUIRE:

• Experience machining titanium
• Horizontal and/or Vertical CNC programming and operational experience
• Years of experience with machining hard metals, specifically titanium, using CNC horizontal or vertical machines
• Part print reading, geometric tolerance knowledge
• A knowledge of material specifications
• Cutting tool design background or knowledge
• Experience with various types of cutting fluids
• Strong technical writing skills preferred
• Patent application experience a plus
• Good communication skills, Critical thinking skills and ability to work in a team environment
• SAP experience a plus)
